Target group:

Persons suffering from narcotic substances

Objectives:

To create conditions for persons suffering from addictive disorders to get rehabilitated and integrated into the labor market and into society.

Goals:

  1. To enhance self-confidence and ability of solving individual problems constructively;
  2. Analyze parallel creation and testing of innovative working rehabilitation methods sharing international experience
  3. To form the positive opinion about people who stopped abusing drugs, about their potential and skills

Innovation:

Traditionally the rehabilitation of persons suffering from addictive disorders is understood as medical and psychosocial rehabilitation. Within this project the traditional rehabilitation is supplemented with an other one – vocational rehabilitation. According to the information provided by project partners this kind of rehabilitation is not carried out in Lithuania, so the idea of DP is already innovative.

This composition of DP when the responsibilities are shared by local authority, NGO, education, business sectors, target group and the employers is an innovative activity. This form of problem solving and organizing joint activities strategy insures the continuation of the project and more efficient rehabilitation for drug addicts, better chances to enter labor market as well as support and help making first steps towards becoming the full-member of the society.

Activities:

  1. Project administration, project executive group meeting;
  2. Periodical selection of the project participants and support during the project;
  3. Design and application of the motivation program on professional skills training and participating in the labor market in order to obtain legal income for individuals addicted to drugs;
  4. Design and application of the program for colleagues working with addicts;
  5. Design of the theory and practical skills training program for individuals suffering from addictive disorders on barmen’s waiter’s or chef’s professions;
  6. Development of the practical skills training place;
  7. Training of project participants according chosen professions;
  8. Desemination of the project and its created products;
  9. Transnational activities.

Planned results:

  1. Designed and applied into the practice motivation program on professional skills training and participating in the labor market in order to obtain legal income for individuals addicted to drugs at Vilnius Centre for Addictive Disorders and other rehabilitation centers;
  2. With the help of foreign experience and involving target group of the project as well as representatives of employees designed and tested the motivation program on professional skills training and participating in the labor market in order to obtain legal income for individuals addicted to drugs;
  3. Designed and tested the program for colleagues working with addicts;
  4. Concerned parties and society is informed about the project and its produced outcome;
  5. Executed provisions of the transnational agreement, project executive group members gained experience acting in the multicultural environment, for project participants introduced activities of the rehabilitation centers in other European countries;
  6. DP members learned to act in the conditions of equal partnership.
Prospective outcomes:
  1. Designed motivation program on professional skills training and participating in the labor market in order to obtain legal income for individuals addicted to drugs will be applied in the rehabilitation program package of Vilnius Center for Addictive Disorders and other rehabilitation centers;
  2. Project participants provided with theoretical knowledge and working experience will increase their competitive potential acting in the labor market;
  3. Colleagues working together with addicted persons will get knowledge how to act in the different situations;
  4. Developed methods and good practice will be shared with other municipalities of Lithuania;
  5. DP members will get more experience by collaborating with foreign DPs and will apply it in the future projects;
  6. DP members will maintain running this project and developed structure of collaboration.
Prospective impact:

This project might be as a pattern because of the “multiplier” effect. Through this project the problems of employment of the target group can be solved fundamentally, so it can be adapted:

  • to any Lithuanian region;
  • to another social group of limited working capacity.

Activities:

  1. Exchange of information and experiences
  2. Parallel development of innovative approaches
  3. Import, export or adoption of new approaches

Planned results:

  1. Set up of training courses and seminars which could be opened to the partners of each DP in each country
  2. Seminar’s reports will be published and mainstreamed
  3. Realization and publication of a research led with the construction of an evolving analysis grid of our experiments
  4. This grid will also be proposed to the carriers of other experiments led in Europe
  5. The multimedia construction of medium and tools (internet, CD, DVD...)
  6. Realization of an evaluation “research-action” concerning the process of construction of transnational and its contributions for each DP. This evaluation will be published
